The Drumcliffe School of Irish Dance
The Drumcliffe School of Irish Dance is one of Upstate New York’s premiere dance schools. Since its founding over 20 years ago under director Edward J. Murphy, Jr. TCRG, ADCRG, the Drumcliffe School’s reputation for offering precise dance instruction, combined with creative choreography has attracted both recreational and competitive dancers alike. Drumcliffe quickly became known as a creative powerhouse and continues that legacy today. Classes are also offered at a location in Syracuse, NY under the direction of Michael Galvin, TCRG, and Brittany O’Reilly, TCRG. Dancers at both schools have opportunities to be taught by all the instructors and dance with dancers at both locations.
Over the years, the School has produced dozens of national and international championship solo dancers and teams, while also offering its students the opportunity to dance at more than 100 public performances throughout the year. With all that competitive precision driving the dancing, Murphy is also able to create creative and unique dances that he showcases at the annual Dance Concert. This past year’s concert was a tribute to the late David Bowie and incorporated modern dancing along with the traditional Irish Dancing.
Currently, Drumcliffe teaches at 595 Blossom Road, next to Artisan Works.
We are accepting new students and are offering a 6 week New Beginner Session to begin March 29th.
